Devon Lawrence is making progress with his recruitment.
Five schools are still in the mix for the Wake Forest standout
"My top five in no order is Clemson, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina and UCLA," Lawrence said. "All of them have had great running backs. I've developed great relationships with all the running back coaches and offensive coordinators at those schools. I also feel very comfortable with those coaching staffs."
His next visit will be UCLA.
"I haven't set a date yet, but I'm looking forward to the trip," Lawrence said. "It will be my first time there, so I want to see what the environment is like and get a feel for the school. I also want to learn as much as I can about the academics and football program."
"(Running backs) coach (Deshaun) Foster is recruiting me. He's been telling me they have a lot of running backs leaving and that they need to fill the spot, and they believe I can be that guy."
After UCLA, he will head to LSU.
"It will also be my first time visiting," Lawrence said. "They continue to produce a lot of great players and you see them every year in the NFL draft. I'm ready to learn more about the football program and what they have to offer academically."
"(Offensive coordinator) coach (Matt) Canada is recruiting me. I knew him when he was at NC State and Pittsburgh. He's offered me at all three schools and told me I'm an important target for LSU."
Lawrence plans to make his commitment sometime in November.
