Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic linebacker Malakai Salu holds offers from Hawaii, and from Navy, where his brother T.J. Salu is currently a sophomore.
In addition to his two offers, the Portland linebacker has made spring visits to three northwest programs.
Salu checked out Oregon for their junior day earlier this spring and has great things to say about the new Ducks staff.
"The new coaching staff is definitely a big impact." Salu added, "From the older staff to the new one, there's just a lot more energy coming from them."
The other in-state Pac-12 program, Oregon State, also hosted Salu for their Junior Day. Salu was able to talk with the coaching staff, who were interested in meeting the three-star and evaluation his size and frame.
Salu was also able to make a return visit to Washington. As for plans this summer, Salu mentioned "I definitely want to go down to California to check out UCLA and Stanford." Salu has also been in contact with Utah and Utah State about a possible visit.
As for personal goals for his senior season Salu remarked, "I wanna be defensive player of the year from Oregon."
He added when asked what he could improve upon, "coaches want to see if I can move my hips well and guard in coverage."
