New Offers Rolling In For Three-star LB Viliami Tausinga, Who Plans to Visit Boise State and Minnesota This Summer, Camp With Utah

Three-star prospect Viliami Tausinga, one of the top linebackers in the state of Utah for the 2018 class, talks about his most recent offers and summer visit plans...

With several next-level prospects on the roster every year, Salt Lake City (Utah) East is a must-stop location for college recruiters during the spring evaluation period.

The two-time defending state champs are deep in the trenches this cycle but Viliami Tausinga, a physical linebacker, is also drawing his share of looks. The three-star prospect recently picked up offers from Boise State and Minnesota, and told he is looking to visit both schools this summer.

"My mom really likes Boise and I know they're not too far from home, so my family could come visit if I were to go there," Tausinga said. "They've told me they like my speed inside and my ability to blitz because that's something they want to do.

"With Minnesota, when I was talking to their coach, he told me how nice the facility there is and I've seen a lot of pictures that interest me. I'm probably going to go out there next month, too."

The likes of CaliforniaFresno StateNotre DameOregon and Washington dropped by earlier this month as well. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Tausinga, who turned in a good performance at the Level Up Elite Camp a few weeks ago, said he has also been in communication with the in-state programs.

"The only camp I know of that I'll be at this summer is Utah since it's close to home," Tausinga said. "They have been recruiting me along with BYU, but no offers yet. Those would be huge for me and my family. They would probably be at the top of my list just because it's close to home.

"But obviously I'm still thinking about everything and waiting for all my options to be on the table."

Tausinga was credited with 81 total tackles as a junior last season.
