SEC, Big Ten Schools Extend Offers to Florida-Based 2019 DT Tyler Davis

It has been an offseason to remember for 2019 defensive tackle, Tyler Davis, who recently scooped up a handful of Power Five offers.

Apopka (Fla.) Wekiva has a stable of prospects who are in the midst of living out their dreams on the recruiting front, with one being Tyler Davis.

Davis, a 2019 defensive tackle who had his coming out party at The Opening Orlando Regional, is fresh off some game-changing scholarship offers from FloridaOhio State and Oregon.

"It feels great," Davis said. "I'm very blessed to receive these offers, and humbled. I'm just going to continue working hard."

Being a 2019 prospect, Davis has yet to chop it up with coach Jim McElwain and the Florida staff, but expects to journey up to Gainesville in the foreseeable future.

"The Florida Gators have a great football program, and I'm looking forward to visiting them," Davis said. "They also put a lot of guys into the NFL.

"I like how they took a chance on me by allowing me to have an opportunity to play football at a great school."

The Buckeyes spent much of this week seeking out top-shelf talent across the Sunshine State, resulting in a flurry of offers, including one for the 6-foot-2, 270-pound Davis.

"Ohio State is also a great football program," Davis said. "I like how they also took a chance by giving me the opportunity to play football for a great school.

"I like how they develop people for the next level. I don't know much about their coaching staff because I can't communicate with them, but I'm looking forward to."

Davis, who claims no leaders in his recruitment, also has no visits scheduled at this time.
