Although he is still a freshman, Keontae Jenkins has already been offered by three major college football programs.
Maryland was the latest to pull the trigger.
"They're recruiting me hardest," said the 5-foot-9, 160-pound Jenkins, who also has offers from Florida State and Virginia Tech. "I like that the campus is very diverse and there is a lot of things to do. Maryland also offers a good education.
"I like that (wide receivers) coach (Chris) Beatty is there. He's from the 757 and has coached a lot of greats from the area like Percy Harvin. I also like (defensive backs) coach (Aazaar) Abdul-Rahim a lot. He's a good coach and really knows the game. He's also coached a lot of good DBs."
What is next for Jenkins?
"I'll probably visit Clemson, but I'm not sure when yet," Jenkins said. "I haven't been down there before and I'm really looking forward to the trip. I want to see what campus life is like and the academics. I would also like to meet all the coaches and learn more about the football program.
"I really like (defensive coordinator) coach (Brent) Venables. He's a great coach and a coach I'd love to play for in college. I love how their defensive backs play aggressive and play a lot of man coverage."
Jenkins plans to camp at Auburn and Florida State this summer.
