Three-Star WR Charles Ross Recaps Pac-12 Visits, Set For Busy Summer

Culver City (Calif.) athlete Charles Ross has already taken several unofficial visits this winter and could be closing in on a handful of new offers.

Charles Ross is one of the state's top receiver prospect and is coming off a big junior season.

Ross caught 54 balls for 978 yards and 12 touchdowns and added 47 tackles and four interceptions playing safety. He has the talent and skill set to play on either side of the ball but we like him as a receiver and that is where most of the colleges are recruiting him as well.

Ross has an athletic 6-1 frame, is a smooth route runner with good hands and very good body control. He does a nice job catching the ball in traffic and has the athleticism to jump over a defensive back. He does not fight the football and makes the game look easy.

On the recruiting front, Ross has four offers on the table and we expect that list to grow rapidly over the spring/summer. The schools who have already offered include the Hawaii WarriorsNew Mexico LobosSan Diego State Aztecs and San Jose State Spartans.

Ross has already taken unofficial visits to CalOregon and Washington State and had positive things to say about each of the schools.

Cal- "I went to the Cal Spring Game and loved it there. I like the new staff a lot and they seemed very interested. I had a good time watching the team play and then went to dinner afterwards. They want to evaluate me a little more and hopefully they offer."

Oregon- "I did the whole campus tour at Oregon and it's a very nice place. I saw the football facilities as well as the academic buildings and sat in on some meetings. Coach (Keith) Heyward (DB coach) is the one recruiting and coach (Jim) Leavitt came to my school to see me and I might try and camp with them over the summer."

Washington State- "I loved everything about that visit, they showed me a lot of love. The hospitality was great and I was able to meet all the coaches and tour the campus. I met with Coach (Roy) Manning and Mike Leatch (head coach) as well. They seem like they could be close to offering and that would be big because I love the offense and how they throw the ball around."

Ross said he is also hearing from the Arizona State Sun DevilsBoise State BroncosColorado BuffaloesFresno State Bulldogs  and  San Jose State Spartans.

"I'm going to visit Colorado May 26," Ross said. "They're another school that sounds like they could offer but just want to see me more in person and see how I develop. I'm going to camp at Boise State and I think they could offer me soon. I have a lot of interest in them and Fresno State is another school I like.

"Coach (Jeff) Tedford (head coach) recruited my older brother (Kevin Ross) when he was at Cal and he liked him a lot. Of the schools that have offered, I talk the most with SDSU and Hawaii. I like SDSU a lot, that's probably my top school right now and I know some of the players at Hawaii and they love the new staff so I'm very interested in them as well." Top Stories
