Indy defender lands Syracuse offer

Indianapolis Pike safety E.J. Williams talks about Syracuse, the first Power 5 school to offer him.

E.J. Williams is a big, physical safety prospect from Indianapolis Pike who is seeing his recruitment continue to rise.

Syracuse recently became the 6-foot-1, 208-pound rising senior's first Power 5 offer to go along with offers from Northern IllinoisEastern Michigan and Bowling Green.

"I don't have any specific knowledge about the program [at Syracuse]," Williams said. "I do know they are rebuilding some aspects on their team and they do a good job of developing players. I do plan to visit."

Williams could play strong safety or outside linebacker at the next level and he has spoken to the Orange about that.

"I have been in contact with Coach Ward the defensive coordinator and he told me that they thought I might fit in as an outside linebacker or a safety and they weren't absolutely sure which would be better," Williams said.

Williams says he is currently undecided on which summer camps he will attend, but does plan to get to several.
