Banged-up Fagan Begins Senior Campaign

Westlake (Md.) athlete Jared Fagan was banged up in his first game, but played well anyway. VTI spoke with Fagan about his season-to-date as well as the latest in his recruitment.

"We're 1-0 right now," Jared Fagan said. "We won 41-12 on Friday night. I did fairly well. I had injured myself not too long ago in practice so I only played the 1st quarter or so but I had 11 carries for 88 yards and we were up 21-0 when I came out. I just played offense."

Meanwhile, on the recruiting front, things are still going well with Fagan. "The same schools are recruiting me," he said. "Marshall, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Connecticut, Ohio State left a message, Air Force, Army, and Stanford have called me."

Fagan, who has offers from Kent State, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Boston College, and UConn, notes that Virginia Tech is up at the top of his list. Still, he has not gotten a chance to visit the Blacksburg campus and does not have anything set up with Tech at this point.

"Nothing yet," Fagan said in regards to scheduled visits. "I plan on going to see the Miami-Virginia Tech football game and I'm going to try to get to a Boston College football game this year."
