MIAMI, Fla. -- Derek Wingo, a two-way standout who laced up the cleats at FIU on Saturday, is certainly a name to note for the class of 2020.
A flurry of blue-chip recruits made the stroll down to Miami to camp with Florida International on Saturday, with one being Derek Wingo, a rising sophomore athlete.
Wingo, who first made a splash as a signal-caller, did a great job of operating in space and playing under control when teaming up with the linebackers on Saturday evening. He also passes the eye test for an up-and-coming prospect, measuring in at roughly 6-foot-1, 200 pounds.
The offers are expected to pour in over the next three years, but Wingo has already started to carve his path with offers on the table from the likes of Florida Atlantic, Cincinnati and Valdosta State.
Wingo opens up about his performance in front of FIU, Ohio State and Alabama, initial in-state offer from FAU, and more in the video at the top of the page.
