Cincinnati Moeller four-star defensive tackle Aeneas Hawkins has been a wanted man in the recruiting world for over a year, and his recruitment is nearing it's conclusion.
Hawkins, who holds over 30 offers, is getting close to making his decision and an announcement could be coming in the next few weeks.
"I put out my top-seven schools on Twitter recently (Ohio State, Penn State, USC, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Alabama, Pittsburgh)," Hawkins stated. "At this point, I'm probably down to three or four but I'd rather not say who they are."
"I will probably announce my commitment in July, and I'm pretty close to knowing where I want to go," he added. "There are two or three schools I'm really focusing on, so it's going good."
"I'd like to get around a few of these coaching staff, to get to know them better," he continued. "These are all great schools, and a lot of it goes to where do I fit in best. It will be tough to choose between a few of them, but I will be ready soon."
Even though Hawkins is hoping to announce his decision within the coming months, he is undecided if he will take official visits in the fall.
"When I do commit, I will talk to the coaches and see how they feel about me taking other official visits," Hawkins explained. "If I feel it's necessary to take those visits, I would talk to them first."
"I would never want to make a commitment and feel like I was disrespecting the coach and school I'm committed to," he said.
Scout will continue to track Hawkins over the coming weeks and will report on his decision once it's finalized.
