Front-Runner Emerges for 2018 Three-Star OG Adonis Boone

An in-state suitor is leading the way for Adonis Boone, the 25th-ranked offensive guard in the South.

There is a leader in the clubhouse for South's 25th-ranked offensive guard and Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland standout, Adonis Boone, who has piled up roughly two-dozen scholarship offers.

Boone, who spent the last week scooping up offers from the likes of Mississippi StateKansas and Louisville, is a rising senior who measures in at roughly 6-foot-5, 275 pounds.

"Out of all the schools that offered me, I have South Florida on top," Boone said. "I love the way the program is progressing, and I know that Charlie Strong is building something special. They aren't just trying to win championships; they are trying to make sure their players are set for years.

"Me and the coaching staff have a very well set-up relationship. I've visited three times, and each time the love from USF gets stronger."

The three-star prospect says one suitor is currently going all in and pushing the hardest for his services along the offensive front.

"Toledo is recruiting me the hardest out of all schools," Boone said. "The coaches show plenty of love and send stacks of mail. They have me as a top priority and (I'm) No. 1 on their recruiting board. They want me to come visit, and want a commitment pretty soon."

Boone was brimming with joy once learning of his initial opportunity with a school representing the ACC.

"Louisville came to my school during the spring and watched me practice," Boone said. "I was very surprised and excited to receive that one; it made my day.

"I like their high-powered offense."

If all goes as planned, Boone will be teamed up with one lucky college by the time the 2017 season kicks into gear.

"I'm waiting on a specific offer (before I) start thinking about a decision, and it's coming soon; probably this week," Boone said. "I will probably decide before the summer ends."

Boone, who is also labeled as the 10th-ranked offensive guard in Florida, plans to visit Missouri during the month of July.

As always, stay tuned to Scout.
