COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The class of 2019 is shaping up quite well in Ohio, and Reynoldsburg wide receiver Mershawn Rice is one of the top prospects. He impressed Tuesday at Ohio State's camp.

One of the top athletes in the 2019 class in the state of Ohio is Reynoldsburg wide receiver Mershawn Rice, and he certainly lookked the part Tuesday at the Ohio State camp.

Rice, who holds a handful of offers already, has good size, speed and the ability to make tough catches in traffic.

"It was great being at Ohio State and I loved talking with the coaches," Rice stated. "They were telling me to stay focused on academics, and to not do anything that would hurt me in the future."

"They didn't offer me yet, and I'm going to speak with Coach (Kevin) Wilson later in the week," he added. "This camp at Ohio State helped me get better as a player."

"I also spoke to Coach (Zach) Smith and he told me I'm doing good, and to keep working hard," he continued. I feel good about things at Ohio State, and this is an offer I'd love to have. It would give me a lot to think about."

Several other schools are in contact with Rice, and the offer list should continue to expand in the coming months.

"I'm going to possibly go to camps at MinnesotaMichigan and Notre Dame," Rice added. "I'm hoping to make my decision a year from now, before my senior season."
