McNeill Discusses His Top Six Schools

Raleigh (NC) Sanderson defensive lineman Alim McNeill has narrowed his list to six schools, and NC State made the cut.

After receiving over 30 scholarship offers, Alim McNeill is down to six schools.

DukeFlorida StateNC StateNorth CarolinaPenn State and Virginia Tech are still in contention.

What does he like about each school? 

Duke: "They offer a great education," said the 6-foot-3, 270-pound McNeill. "I like the culture they're building and I have connections there."

Florida State: "The tradition is awesome and they have a great staff. It's also a great place to play and I like the area."

NC State: "They have a great staff and I'd have an opportunity to play early. I also love the culture they're building."

North Carolina: "It's close to home and the future is bright. They have a great staff and school."

Penn State: "They have great coaches and I love the atmosphere.  It's also a great school and opportunity for me."

Virginia Tech: "They have great tradition, too. They're defensive-minded and the atmosphere is great."

In regards to upcoming visits, McNeill will head to North Carolina on Saturday and Penn State next month.

McNeill finished his junior campaign with 84 tackles, including 18 for loss and six sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

He does not have a timeline for his commitment.
