Billy Dunkle is among the most physical offensive lineman in the West and is closing in on double digit scholarship offers.
Dunkle plays tackle but could easily slide inside and play guard. He has a road grader mentality and is a devastating run blocker who plays through the whistle.
He doesn't just try to block his man, he's looking to put him on his back every play and has the perfect amount of nastiness to excel in the trenches at the next level. He can get to the second level and make a block on a linebacker or safety and moves very well for a big 350 pound tackle.
On the recruiting front, Dunkle has offers from the Colorado State Rams, Fresno State Bulldogs, Illinois Fighting Illini, South Dakota, UCF Golden Knights, UNLV Rebels, Utah State Aggies and UTEP Miners.
"Illinois and Fresno State are the two schools I'm taking with the most right now," Dunkle said. "I want to take all five of my official visits in the fall and Illinois is one school I know I'll visit, hopefully in September. I don't know about the other visits right now, I want to play this out and see who else offers before I decide on my other trips."
Dunkle is hearing from several other programs, predominately out of the Pac-12, who could offer down the road.
"I'm hearing from Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, Boise State, Arizona and Arizona State," Dunkle said. "Hopefully a few will offer, that would be great. Right now, the biggest thing I'm looking for in a program is a school that help me get to the NFL. I don't care if the chances are slim to none, I just want a chance.
"I also want a team that feels like a family and a strong tradition because I feel if you have that, it's easier to get players to buy in to the program. I would love to get to the League (NFL) though. Utah is another school I'm hearing from and like a lot and they do a great job getting players to the League. I'm just going to keep working and hope for the best."
