Evaluation Notes: The offseason is often busy for quarterbacks in between their junior and senior years of high school, but few class of 2018 arms have been as active as Justin Fields, The five-star prospect has competed everywhere he has been, from national camps, college sessions and while on the 7-on-7 circuit. The latest was at the NFA 7v7 National Championships over the weekend as part of Cam Newton's squad. As usual Fields had all eyes on him and he showed plenty of glimpses why he is arguably the most coveted uncommitted recruit in America. He plays with great pace in the pocket, as willing to take shots down the field as he is unwilling to force something underneath. Anticipating well throughout the two days of work, Fields showed more touch than we have seen lately while putting plenty on it when needing to thread the needle. He was solid while outside of the pocket as well and seemed to perform at a higher standard the deeper the tournament progressed. He was poised through all the ups and downs of the event while showcasing leadership skills as well. The scary thing about Fields, who could stand to improve in his throwing motion and with speed manipulation, is that his best football is still well ahead.
