2019 DE Dontay Hunter II Lands Second Offer

CANTON, Ohio -- One of the more impressive defensive line prospects at Tuesday's Minnesota satellite camp in Ohio was Columbus DeSales 2019 defensive end Dontay Hunter II. He landed a Gopher offer after the camp.

One of the more physically impressive athletes at last Tuesday's Minnesota satellite camp in Ohio was Columbus DeSales defensive end Dontay Hunter II, and he is a top 2019 prospect.

Hunter II has great size (6-foot-5, 225-pounds), and he showed the quickness to be able to turn the corner and get to the quarterback in pass protection drills.

His work at the camp landed him an offer from Gopher head coach P.J. Fleck. Hunter II was previously offered by Kentucky

"Being at the Minnesota camp was great, and I loved that they offered me," Hunter II stated. "I got a chance to work with Coach (Bryce) Paup today and learned a lot from him that can help me next season."

"I don't know much about Minnesota to be honest, but I know to row the boat," he added. "This is my second offer, with Kentucky being the first, and they're both great schools.

"The Minnesota offer came right from Coach (P.J.) Fleck, and it made me feel good," he continued. "He's a new head coach, and it's great that he sees me as a player he wants. He said he liked my speed and my athleticism. Coach Fleck is awesome and I loved being around him."

Hunter II is also hearing from CincinnatiNorthwestern, and most of the MAC schools.
