Four-Star WR Andre Hunt Talks USC Commitment

USC has been the top school for Lancaster (Calif.) Paraclete wide out Andre Hunt for some time and minutes ago, the athlete decided to pull the trigger and end the recruiting process.

Andre Hunt has been contemplating making an early commitment for some time and the talented receiver decided to pull the trigger minutes ago.

"USC is my dream, it's where I've always wanted to go," Hunt said. "They have been pushing hard for me to commit and the more I thought about it, the more I realized there was no need for me to wait this out any longer.

"I know USC has some great receivers and is recruiting some big time players as well but I'm not afraid of competition. I'm the kind of guy that embraces that so I decided to just do me and pick the school I've always wanted to go to and that's USC."

Hunt had an exceptional showing at the Trojans Elite Camp last Monday and showed he's among the top receivers in the region. He was running past cornerbacks all day like they were cones and it was easily the best we've seen him look this off-season.

"I was finally healthy at that camp," Hunt said. "I've been banged up a lot but I was 100% for that one and was feeling great. I met with the coaches after the camp and they were telling me how bad they wanted me to commit and that I was at the top of their board.

"I have a great relationship with Tee Martin (OC) and I like Coach (Clay) Helton a lot too. They were saying they don't really have a guy like me on the team right now. They called me a tweener and said I have good size and speed to stretch the field so I'm looking forward to getting out there and doing my best to compete with the other guys they have on the team."

Hunt recently narrowed his list and was planning to commit sometime before August.

"I waited a little longer to make sure my decision was 100% what I wanted to do," Hunt said. "I don't plan on committing and then de-committing anywhere so I wanted to make sure this is what I wanted. I talked about it with my family and after looking over all my options, I knew USC was the place.

"It's a great feeling to have this decision out of the way and feels great to be a Trojan. Now I can just focus on school and football and don't have to stress over recruiting. I'm not looking around at anyone else, my decision is final and I'm 100% locked in with USC."

Hunt, who played at Leuzinger last season, does everything well. He's a natural pass catcher, has the top end speed to get deep and runs well after the catch. He's also a standout punt and kick returner and should be able to make an impact on special teams as well.
