PAUL FREENEY, DE, 6'4, 238, 4,8, ALDINE, TEXAS (EISENHOWER HS):
Paul Freeney plays the game with reckless abandon and has a tremendous nose for the football. Freeney was a part-time starter at defensive end as a sophomore before moving into a full-time starting role last season. Freeney finished the season with close to 80 tackles, 14 sacks and four fumble recoveries.
"I just like to get the quarterbacks scared," said Freeney. "Sometimes I like to bull rush and sometimes I like to make a move and rush from the outside. I have the speed and strength to do whatever I need to do to get to the quarterbacks. The quarterbacks always find out where I am when they come to the line of scrimmage, because they are scared of my abilities."
Freeney can bench 350 pounds and he participates in track and field (shot and disc). Freeney attended the the MSL Combine at Houston and the NIKE combine at Texas A&M. Paul has been offered by seven schools thus far and he is looking for me as the weeks pass by.
"I am really looking hard at Texas A&M. They would have to be my leader at this point," said Freeney. "I also like Oklahoma and LSU. Texas A&M and Oklahoma have offered me and I expect LSU to offer me very soon. I like the fact that Texas A&M is one big family and once you sign with them you become on big Aggie. At Oklahoma, they have a great football team and they are great competitors. When you play Oklahoma you know you are going to be in a game."
Freeney will take his test on Saturday.
