Derrius Bell/Defensive Back: 5-10 165 4.54 speed

When C.J. Wilson, Anthony Arline, and James Todd graduate from Baylor University after this season, Guy Morriss and the Baylor Bears will be losing three starting defensive backs. The Baylor Bears' recruiting success this season however, has allowed them to obtain commitments from outstanding prep athletes. One defensive back, 5-10 165 Derrius Bell, is cognizant of the depth chart of Baylor's secondary. BearsIllustrated.com caught up with Bell to get the latest. Here are a few quotes from Bell.

"I really don't play offense as much now. I only play offense during big plays, and as a back up to all the receivers. But on defense, I really don't get the ball thrown to my side because I make plays when they do get thrown to my side. But I rarely get balls thrown my way."

"My offers are Baylor, UTEP, Tulsa, Colorado State, SMU, and TCU. The team that I am leaning to the most right now would be Baylor. I am being recruited hard by Wisconsin also. I will be taking a visit out there on December 1st. Wisconsin is high on my list too, but they haven't offered yet."

"From the schools that have offered it would be Baylor first, then Tulsa, then Colorado State. I am actually going to Colorado State in late November."

"I went to watch Baylor play against Kansas, and I liked it a lot. The coaches treated me well and they showed me how much they wanted me to come. I was actually up there with a lot of recruits who had already committed, and they were just telling me the reasons why they had committed, how the coaches make them feel, and how comfortable they are with the coaches. I felt the same.I felt the same as they do. So, Baylor is real strong right now."

"It's going to all come down to how I feel about the school, how the coaches make me feel, how I will fit into their system. That's one thing about Baylor. They are losing three seniors in their defensive backfield this year. That's something that I look at."

"I am going to take all the visits I have set up so far. After that, whichever school I like the most, that is when I will make my commitment. I think I will be committed before Christmas, I can tell you that."
