Malachi Lewis, 6-4, 210, Oxnard, Rio Mesa HS, did everything for his team. He rushed for 1,406 yards, had 242 yards of receptions and 81 return-yards for 1,729 all-purpose yards or 144.1 per game. Not only that, he had 25 tackles on defense (14 solo) plus three pass deflections and an interception on a team that finished 10-2 for season before losing to Canyon HS in the playoffs.
He visited Oregon last week and the trip went well. "It was great the people are nice the schools nice and the coaches are cool," Lewis wrote in an email to eDuck.com.
Lewis has an offer from the Ducks along with at least six other programs including California, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Mississippi and USC. Lewis didn't commit on his visit to Oregon and is headed to Mississippi this week. Oregon was his first visit among his favorites.
Lewis is a 4-star and ranked No. 8 as a strong linebacker.
