"I've just been relaxing and enjoying the holiday break," Herndon said. "I'm waiting to take my visits later this month. My coach nominated me for one of the all-star games down South but I haven't heard anything on that yet."
Herndon, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, has not yet taken any recruiting visits but plans on taking at least four in the month of January.
"Actually, I'd like to take all five but I'm not sure how that's going to work out," he said. "Because we played in the state championship game, I wasn't able to take any visits recently."
The talented receiver prospect said he has four schools in mind for official visits.
"I'm going to Troy on the 12th and then Indiana on the 19th," he said. "I'm also going to visit Miami and possibly MTSU. I'm still working on the date with Miami."
The talented receiver said he's gotten the opportunity to watch some bowl games.
"I watched MTSU against Central Michigan," he said. "And I watched the Miami game last night. It was a good game and I'm glad they pulled it out. It was a close game."
Herndon said he received in-home visits from coaches at Troy and Middle Tennessee State just prior to the start of the dead period.
