Big Offer for N.Y. Receiver

Miami stopped by Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, N.Y., today to meet with junior wide receiver Marcus Sales and by the time that visit was done, Sales secured a huge offer from the Hurricanes, his fifth so far.

"Coach (Jeff) Stoutland was in from Miami today," Sales said. "We talked a bit about the fact that he just got down to Miami and he told me they didn't want to play games and wanted to make sure they could get me on campus this spring. It feels real good to get an offer from Miami because they're known for their wide receivers with guys like Andre Johnson and Santana Moss. This was a big confidence boost for me, but I have to stay humble, stay focused and take things step by step."

Marcus Sales, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide receiver has now been invited to junior days at Virginia, Notre Dame, Florida and Pittsburgh and talked a bit about where he may attend as well as what he's looking for in a school.

"I may take a trip down to Virginia for their junior day," Sales explained. "Florida is too far as was Notre Dame. They're not too far to go play for, but to make a visit like that it's too much right now. I don't know about Pittsburgh right now."

"Academics, playing time, location, NFL success at wide receiver and my comfort level with the staff are my priorities when looking at a school," Sales stated. "It's in that particular order for me, but right now I don't know who I really like as I'm in the middle of basketball season. When the season is over I plan to start to narrow things down a bit."

As a junior at Christian Brothers Academy Sales caught 33 catches for over 600 yards and seven touchdowns despite missing two games and excels on the hardwood as well.
