Elite 11 QB Sets His First Trip

Student Sports Elite 11 quarterback Blake Mitchell of LaGrange (Ga.) opened his season with a 24-0 victory last Friday over crosstown rival Troup. Mitchell has five favorites and has setup his first trip for the fall.

Mitchell only threw nine passes in his team's season opener, completing five for 128 yards including a 74-yard touchdown pass to his standout running back Skyler Thornton.

"After this next week's game against Callaway, we have an open week so I'm going to go visit South Carolina for the USC-Georgia game on the 14th."

Mitchell named the Gamecocks and Bulldogs as two of his favorite schools at this point, along with Auburn, Tennessee and Florida. He wasn't sure if Tennessee had offered yet, but he has over 20 offers at this point including ones from all the rest of his favorites.

Mitchell was an All-State selection as a junior, leading La Grange to the 3A state title while passing for 2,086 yards and 23 touchdowns.
