Edwards Bags Number Two

Early in recruiting Philadelphia, Pa., native Jewhan Edwards had many, many visitors, yet nothing to show for it. After receiving his first offer roughly a week ago from Syracuse he picked up his second today from a Big Ten program.

Minnesota came through this week with an offer for 6-foot-2, 310-pound Roman Catholic defensive tackle Jewhan Edwards. This offer is his second to date, and according to his coaches schools like Pittsburgh, Iowa, Connecticut and Rutgers may not be far behind with offers of their own.

"I'm pretty excited that Minnesota offered," Edwards exclaimed. "Their coaching staff called and asked my coach for my film, so he sent it last week for them to evaluate. The day they got it they looked it over and called me with an offer right then."

"I talked to a few of the coaches including Head Coach (Tim Brewster) and their defensive line coach Tim Cross," Edwards explained. "All of them seemed very down to Earth and cool to talk to, especially Coach Cross. He's just a great guy and really fun to talk to. He talked about being impressed with my movement skills and overall ability and said they could really build a defense around me up there. I'm definitely going to take a visit there when I get a chance."

With dozens of schools sending mail and nearly as many having had visited the school already, interest has never been a problem for Edwards. At this point it seems all of that activity is starting to come to fruition, so expect more offers sooner then later for the talented lineman.
