The Taylor boys are Tigers

It's always been a question of when and not if the Taylor brothers from Franklinton would commit to LSU and now they have decided to make that public knowledge.

"We called coach Miles last week and he asked us if we wanted to commit and we said yes," said Jhyryn Taylor as he was heading to school this morning. "He said welcome aboard and he was glad to have us."

Brandon (5-11, 185, 4.5) is being recruited as an athlete and he showed why by rushing for 564 yards on 62 carries and eight touchdowns and picking up ten receptions for 205 yards with two more scores.

From his linebacker spot, he had 44 tackles, with 16 for a loss, 2 sacks and three interceptions with two returned for scores.

Jhyryn (5-10, 175, 4.5) was the big-play threat in the passing game as he registered 40 receptions for 672 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Both are versatile enough to play several positions but the LSU staff may have them pegged for opposite sides of the ball.

"My older brother (Curtis Taylor) said they were recruiting me as a receiver and Brandon as a cornerback," said Jhyryn, who claims other offers from Ole Miss and Kentucky, and says that Brandon also has an offer from Oklahoma.

With the addition of the Taylor brothers that brings LSU's commitment total to five for 2008.
