Nease QB Receives USF Offer

The Bulls main need this offseason is landing an impact QB. That's why they recently offered Ted Stachitas from Nease. Last year he threw for over 2700 yards and 29 touchdowns. USFNation featured him in a story last week, now the dual-threat QB talks about his offer, spring practice and who else is showing interest. Read on for the entire story.

A week ago USFNation featured Ted Stachitas in a story where we said he is the one QB recruit out there who could fit the Bulls system the best. Much like Matt Grothe, Ted is undersized but gets it done anyway he can. Through the air or on the ground Ted Stachitas has proven he fits the Bulls spread offensive attack.

"I got the offer in the mail during the week." Adding, "USF is now pretty high up there. I like their offense, I think it fits me and it's similar to what we run now."

The Bulls are not the only new team showing interest.

"My coach said that Georgia Tech offered, but I didn't see anything in the mail from them. Maybe they are close to offering."

One thing that may have the Bulls out ahead of the rest is their intent to keep him at his natural position, quarterback.

"USF is one of the few teams that is offering me strictly at QB. The others offer as an athlete or wide receiver."

Ted says he is considering the other offers, but he wants to play QB on the college level.

Spring practice started Tuesday for Nease and Stachitas is concentrating on his pocket presence and accuracy. However, he does not plan on cutting down on his rushing yards, last year he had over 1,100.

"I'm working on staying in the pocket, but most of my rushing yards last year came on called runs. Sometimes I scrambled for yards, but there were also a lot of times they were planned."

USFNation will catch up with Ted after spring practice is over and find out if he has made visit plans for the summer.
