Kheeston Randall: Still Solid

Monsignor Kelly High School in Beaumont, Texas is home to one of the biggest surprises in the 2008 class. Not many people had heard of Kheeston Randall before he committed to Texas, but that changed in a hurry. Several big time offers have come since, but Randall isn't interested.

"Yes sir," Kheeston Randall replied when asked if he was still solid with Texas. "I have got some more offers, but I don't pay them much attention."

"LSU, Oklahoma and Arizona," Randall replied when asked who had offered. "That's all I can remember right now."

Randall was one of three prospects to commit shortly after Texas' second junior day in late February. He returned to Austin for the Longhorn's annual spring game in late March where he got to meet several of his future teammates.

"Yes sir, I went," Randall said. "It was pretty nice. I met some of the incoming players and some of the players in my class. It was a good way to meet new people."

Randall lives pretty close to Nederland, Texas. So, it comes as no surprise that he and Dravannti Johnson are pretty good friends.

"I talk to Dravannti a lot," Randall said. "He lives right around the corner."

Randall and his teammates started spring practice yesterday, and he has already set some big goals for the upcoming season.

"Today was our first day. It went pretty good. We went over offense and defense. We were just going through the motions and learning new plays," Randall said.

"As a team, I just want to win state and win all my games," Randall said. "Individually, I want to win a lot of awards. My big goal is to play in the Army All-American game."
