Currently Ryan's team is involved in mini-camp but he has plans to visit some colleges of interest when school lets out. "I'll probably take a lot of visits right after we get out of school," said Turnley. "I want to go down to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. Then I'm going to visit Duke and Indiana probably."
Turnley is sitting on two offers right now but a third one could be forthcoming. "I've got offers from Georgia Tech and Akron," said Turnley. "The Duke coach called me and told me I'm going to get one from them too probably within a couple of weeks." Akron was his first offer and he received it in the beginning of April. The Tech offer was just extended to him two weeks ago.
Look for Ryan to make at least two stops in his trip down south over the summer. "Georgia Tech – I want to go down and visit because I've never been down there before," said Turnley. "I really am interested in them. Duke's the same, I just want to go down there and see what it's like because I know it's a really good school."
A good education and building a good relationship with the coaching staff are two important factors for Ryan. "I just want to go somewhere I feel comfortable playing and where I think I can get a very good education," said Turnley. "I'm just going to look and see how I fit in with the coaching staff and how well I get to know them."
Ryan wasn't ready to name a favorite at this point but gave a reason he liked a couple of schools on his list – the two that have already offered. "I really like Akron because it's really close and I like Georgia Tech, obviously, because they've been to 8 or 9 straight bowl games, whatever it is, and they're just a really good team," said Turnley.
The coaches recruiting him for those two schools are Joe D'Alessandris, GT Offensive Line Coach and Joe Moorhead, Akron Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach.
