Blackman names top-three

Dominique Blackman is a 6-foot-4.5, 250-pound quarterback prospect from Carson, Calif., and like many teenagers these days, he's having to suffer through getting his cell phone stolen. For Blackman - who had all his coaching contacts in that phone - losing the phone became a doubly-crushing ordeal.

"Yeah, I had all my coaches' numbers in that phone, so now I'm going to have to start getting coaches' numbers all over again," Blackman told Sunday. "I know a lot of people have been trying to get a hold of me."

One school that's definitely been trying to get a hold of Dominique is Washington. They have recently offered quarterbacks Kevin Prince and Matt Scott and Blackman would appear to be on that short list of signal-callers the Huskies are looking at.

"Coach (Tim) Lappano already told me that he loved me," Blackman said. "He came down to see me throw at one of our practices this spring and he said that I really stay humble and poised and that I can make all the throws."

He added that his teammate - running back Jack Sula - had already been contacted by UW and had been offered.

"I'm going to find Jack and hopefully get in touch with the coaches with his cell phone," Blackman added.

Despite new offers coming all the time - his most recent are from Fresno State, Idaho and Louisiana Tech - Blackman has already narrowed his list down to three.

"My top three are Washington, Arizona and Arizona State," he said, matter-of-factly. "I'm going to take unofficial trips during the summer so that I can make an early decision before the season starts."

Since the Huskies have not been able to get a hold of Blackman, they haven't let him know of an offer...yet. Once he gets word, it will be a two-horse race between UW and UA.

"All that will be left will be me going to a campus to let them know that I love them," Blackman said of his eventual suitor. So all that needs to fall into place is that offer.

"My Dad said that they can send it in the mail, so I'm just staying patient," he said.

Boyles in?: Blackman is close with UW signee Anthony Boyles - from Gardena Serra - and Blackman heard from Boyles just the other day. "That's my boy," Blackman said of Boyles. "He called me and told me that he was going to get a qualifying score. And then when I saw him, I asked if he passed the test, and he told me that he was going to be straight with it - so he got the score."

We're still trying to confirm the news, but if true this could be the biggest off-field news of the summer for UW football.
