Middleton down to five

Kavario Middleton is a 6-foot-6, 240-pound athlete from Lakes High School in Lakewood, Wash., and Middleton once again claimed the top spot in the Scout.com Northwest Hot 100 re-rankings that came out Tuesday. Middleton is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 2 defensive end in the country, but could very easily play tight end in college - he's that versatile.

But that news on Middleton was trumped by even some bigger news. In talking with Lakes Head Coach Dave Miller Tuesday, Scout.com learned that Middleton has pared down his sizeable recruiting list down to five schools, in no order. Those schools, as listed by Miller, are Washington, Michigan, Oregon, California and Arizona State. He has offers from all his favorites.

"Basically I just chose the one that I have the most interest in," Middleton said on Tuesday. "They aren't in any particular order, it's just where I'm feeling I'll fit in the best."

Middleton has no immediate time-table for a decision.
