2007 Team Insider: FB Marshall Buffaloes

Another football season means college recruiters will be paying attention to the Fort Bend Marshall Buffaloes - not to mention the rest of District 23-5A.

If Marshall can rebuild its offense around quarterback Dean Brantley (6-1, 170) and a deep backfield, expect to see the another second-round playoff run - possibly deeper.

Johnathan Woodson (5-11, 175), Knile Davis (6-0, 200) and Jarred Pickett (5-10, 170) will be looking to move the ball closer to the endzone every time they touch the ball. Ralph Orwebu (6-4, 270) and Jarred Patterson (6-0, 250) will anchor the offensive line. Ricky Burden (5-10, 210) will play at fullback, and New Orleans-area native Sherman Batiste (5-10, 170) looks to lead the Buffs' receiving corps.

Marshall has a big and experienced defensive line with seniors Jeremy Coleman (6-3, 250), a TCU commit; Philip Longino (6-1, 280), who has already chosen Louisiana Tech, and University of Houston commitment Leonard James (6-0, 255). District 23-5A should get to see some of Marshall's Class of 2010 as well, with sophomores Jermaine Longino (LB/RB, 5-10, 200), Micheal Oguin (DL/OL, 6-2, 270) and Jermaine Williams (RB/WR, 5-9, 170).

Head coach Dennis Brantley is in his third year coaching the Buffaloes.
