Florida OL Enjoys First Visit

Byran Jones is one of the top offensive line prospects from North Florida this year and the Jacksonville (Forrest) standout talked about the latest on the recruiting front.

"We're 3-1 now after beating Wolfson last week," Byran Jones said. "We have Jackson this week. I've been playing both ways and doing real good so far."

Things are starting to pick up on the recruiting front for the big man as well.

"I took my first visit to Minnesota last weekend," he said. "It was great. I saw a lot. I really liked how good they are academically. They're actually recruiting me for defense while most of the other ones like me on offense."

Jones, 6-foot-3 and 330 pounds, has two offers and two schools he hopes to get offers from soon.

"Minnesota and Central Florida have offered me," he said. "I've also been talking to Florida and South Florida but they're still evaluating me to see if they wanna offer. Those are my four favorites. I'm also talking to some other schools like Ball State and East Carolina."

The Gators have been recruiting Jones since the spring but haven't pulled the trigger with an offer yet.

"They just wanna see some more senior film," he said. "They're supposed to be making a decision within the next couple weeks."

Jones said he plans on taking a few other official visits after the season.

"I plan on going to UCF after the season," he said. "I went to the Florida/Tennessee game unofficially and really liked it. I actually thought Tennessee had a pretty good chance but they couldn't stop Percy Harvin."

When asked for a leader, Jones continued giving four.

"It's those same four," he said. "They're all even right now. I really liked my first visit and now I'll see how I like the others as I take them."
