Evens Holds One Offer, but Waiting

Marcos RB Harrison Evens is having a great season, what schools are taking notice?

"Vision and speed." Those are two qualities that RB Harrison Evens from Marcos de Niza HS (Tempe, AZ) is using to tear up opposing defenses.

Evens has led Marcos to a 6-1 record behind 722 yards rushing (12.89 ypc) and 8 touchdowns, 491 yards receiving and 3 more scores. He is leading the Padres in both categories.

Surprisingly, only San Diego State has extended the 5-10 180 pound Evens a scholarship offer at this point. The offer puts the Aztecs as his leader, he comments, "They are building a program. They have great coaches and good schooling."

He has yet to set up a visit to San Diego, "(I am) waiting until the season is over," he says.

More schools may be waiting in line for his services if he continues to play as well as he has. Besides being a solid runner and a threat out of the backfield, Evens is a good return man, taking three kicks in for scores.

He says he does not plan on making a commitment until "after basketball season is over."

Evens says he would like to major in business. He currently maintains a 3.1 GPA but has not received the results of his SAT back yet.

Evens and Marcos play 3-4 Cesar Chavez this week.
