"I am really looking forwards to the LSU vs. Alabama game," Edwards stated. "My team has a game this Thursday and so I will be leaving for Alabama on Friday morning. I want to check out the campus and see what kind of environment that game is going to be like."
The 4-star tight end admitted to being a life-long LSU fan and says he has a feeling of who is going to win this weekend's match up.
"I think LSU has more talent and they will probably end up winning the game," Edwards said. "I think Alabama will hang in there with them early on, but in the end LSU will come out on top."
Edwards informed TigerRag.com that he has been hearing from LSU and Alabama just about every week as well.
"I talked to a coach from Alabama last week," Edwards explained. "They seem to be excited about my visit and they really want to get me up there.
"I spoke to coach [Josh] Henson from LSU a couple of days ago," Edwards added. "We talk just about every week. He wasn't pressuring me for a commitment or anything, but he was pretty straight up with me though. He said he wants me to go to LSU and they could use a tight end like me. He said they like my style because I can block and catch and they really need another tight end with good hands. He also said they would spread me out, put me in motion and different things like that."
Edwards said his top two teams are LSU and Alabama and said he is already feeling the pressure from Tiger fans around the state. When asked has he been feeling the pressure from the LSU fans to commit there instead of to Alabama, Edwards replied, "Yeah that's all I think about".
"When I am around town wearing an Alabama shirt people give me a hard time," he said with a laugh. "I try to put all of that stuff out of the picture though because I am going to make a decision on what I feel in my heart and not what others think I should do."
The big tight end said he now knows exactly when he will make his decision and where.
Edwards says although he has not made all of his visits just yet, he still lists LSU as his #1 team right now.
"LSU is my #1 team right now," said Edwards. "I've always been a fan of LSU and before the season coach [Les] Miles told me they would be throwing to their tight ends a lot more and so far by watching some of the games they have."
Note: Edwards finished his junior season with 23 receptions for 360 yards and four touchdowns. Tyler reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 22 ACT.
