Northview High wide receiver Xzavian Brandon has made a decision on his future.
After mulling over offers from such programs as Ball State, UAB, Mississippi State, Minnesota and Ohio, the two-star standout revealed that he is set to become a Golden Gopher.
Brandon's commitment now gives Minnesota head coach Tim Brewster 22 verbal pledges to his 2008 class.
The Golden Gophers' recruitment of the 6-foot-2, 170-pounder started fairly recently when they extended a scholarship offer after watching some of his game film.
Still, at the time of the scholarship offer, Brandon appeared to be favoring Mississippi State and head coach Sylvester Croom. But upon taking an official visit to Minnesota last weekend, all that changed.
"I took my official visit up there and I was just blown away," Brandon told SuperPrep.com's Steve Robertson in an interview. "I loved everything about it. It was nice to go see everything. They have nice facilities. It's a great place."
