Tinker Has Final Four

Brashear High School wide receiver Ed Tinker has several scholarship offers, but has now whittled his list down to four finalists. With an official visit to Colorado already taken he will be focused on setting up visits with his three other favorites over the next month and try to come to a decision soon after that.

Pittsburgh, Pa., athlete Ed Tinker has now narrowed his list down to four schools in Colorado, Louisville, Michigan State and West Virginia and is trying to nail down solid dates to go check out the three final programs. This season the 6-foot-1, 188-pound receiver caught seven touchdown passes for Brashear, although he did not know the rest of his statistics.

Colorado - "I went there for an official visit in September and really liked the whole atmosphere in Boulder. The players were really cool and the coaching staff was great with everyone. I thought the area was really nice and actually like playing in the cold weather, so that doesn't bother me at all. They also have a very good business program which is a big plus."

Louisville - "I like their spread offense because they throw the ball a lot and spread it around to different guys. Louisville is also somewhat close to home, so my family could come see me play. Other then that, I don't know much about them, so I am looking forward to learning more on my official visit."

West Virginia - "I really feel at home in Morgantown and already know a lot of the team because they are from the Pittsburgh area. It's only about an hour and a half away for my family to drive down, so that would be great. The entire staff at West Virginia is cool and I just dig it down there."

Michigan State - "Coach Mike Tressel came down to my school and told me that they really need wide receivers right now, so obviously the chance to play early is really enticing for me. I just need to get up there and see what they offer off the field."

Tinker's team lost in the district playoffs this month to Erie Cathedral Prep.
