Well I guess if you are a "glass half-empty" Kansas fan then you would wait to count D.J. Marshall's commitment until Sunday evening, but all of the "glass half-full" fans are already celebrating the good news.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end from Mesquite High in Texas initially gave a "soft" commitment to sign with Iowa State, but is now looking to completely end the recruiting process when he announce to the world that he is a "solid" verbal to Kansas.
"I had a real good visit with coach Bowen today," Marshall began. "It was real good. He clarified everything and told me about what my role would be at Kansas."
"It was a real emotional process to de-commit from Iowa State. I made a soft commitment to Iowa State and now I am looking forward to announcing that I am a solid verbal on Sunday night. I just want to sit down and talk with my parents tonight and make sure that I am making the right decision."
Marshall took an official visit to Kansas last weekend and that visit is what most likely sealed the deal on his ultimate final decision.
"I felt very at home on the campus," Marshall said. "All of the players were nice and I enjoyed getting to know them. My host was A.J. Steward and I really got the chance to know all about him."
