Hoke has sights set on Baylor

There are plenty of good DBs in the Greater Houston area, and Fort Bend Clements' Kyle Hoke is one of them. With an offer in hand, Hoke hopes to pull in more interest before signing day in February. What schools is he wanting to hear from? TPI had the chance to talk with Hoke about his recruiting options.

Even though it is the dead period, football recruiting is still in high gear for the large number of athletes who are uncommitted. That includes Fort Bend (Texas) Clements strong safety Kyle Hoke

The 6-1, 190-pound Hoke has a few offers and plenty of interest, but has a few schools in mind that he would like know more about.

"Right now I do not have any favorites at the moment, but I have an offer from Ball State," Hoke said. "I had an offer from Houston at one time, but I am really unsure now that the coaching changed has occurred. I am also hearing from Air Force, SFA, Northwestern, and Baylor."

He did not name a favorite, but it is apparent that the coach who was formerly at Houston made quite an impression on him. So, now that coach Art Briles is at Baylor, the Bears' program is an ideal spot for Hoke to pursue his career.

"Baylor is definitely something I want to look into," Hoke said. "I'd like to give coach Briles a call and see if he is interested. I also plan to send him some video on me."

This past season, Hoke averaged nine tackles a game and had two interceptions.

Since Ball State is the only school that has offered Hoke, he has already pegged the Cardinal program as a place he plans to visit. Aside from that, Hoke plans to see about any other schools that may be interested.

"I am open to anything," Hoke said. "I will visit Ball State for sure, but others I will just have to hold off on until I see what is out there. I am getting phone calls from Northwestern so I will definitely send them a tape. I will also send one to Michigan State."
