Three Trips Planned

John Curtis Christian in River Ridge (La.) is known for churning out more than its fair share of blue-chip prospects and P.J. Smith is looking to keep that tradition alive. The 3-star safety picked up a new offer this week and he will be heading out on Friday to make an official visit to his new suitor.

"Baylor called this week after they got my highlight tape and they talked to my parents a little bit and then they told me I had an offer," said Smith. "I don't know much about Baylor but I'm going to go up there for a visit this weekend and check them out."

Aside from this weekend's trip, Smith (6-4, 200, 4.6) has two other visits set up for the following two weeks but he is leaving that last weekend before signing day open for now.

"I'm going to Nebraska on the 18th and then Arkansas on the 25th," he said. "I don't know who else I'm going to visit for that last one. I'll just have to see."

LSU, Alabama, Arizona State and Tulane are schools that he is still hearing from but when it comes to the ones he stays in contact with the most there are two that he rattled off.

"That would be Arkansas and Nebraska," Smith said. "They stay in touch the most and seem like they want me the most right now."

Smith was at a basketball game and we started to lose our connection but will have a follow-up on Sunday when he returns from his trip to Baylor.

Note: Smith recorded 74 tackles and picked off three passes on his way to earning Class 2A All-State recognition during his senior year.
