Recruiting: Staley Likes What He Sees

Apologizing for not calling back earlier, Oklahoma High School Offensive Player of the Year Kye Staley of Guthrie, Okla., said he misplaced his phone. We had spoke with Staley last week on the radio show in an extensive interview, so in this conversation there wasn't much to add other than how his weekend visit to Stillwater went.

Staley, who accounted for 6,910 yards and an incredible 134 touchdowns in his career, made his official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend and was accompanied by his mother.

Staley has been verbally committed to the Cowboys since before the start of Guthrie's Class 5A state championship season. He said he is still committed but felt the need to take another visit which he will next weekend to Arkansas.

How did the visit to OSU go?

"It went well," said Staley. "Even though I have been there many times I learned some important things that I needed to, mainly about academics. I plan on majoring in secondary education. Also we toured the west end zone and everything that is involved in that part of the stadium. Those facilities are going to be great, one of a kind. It was a fun time and my mom enjoyed it too."

Staley said he does still plan on visiting Arkansas this weekend and that his mother will also accompany him on that visit.
