Cooper Taking it to the Wire...

When it comes to the best in uncommitted football talent in the state of Texas, look no further than Dallas (TX) Skyline DB Keanon Cooper. With multiple college offers in hand, Cooper has decided to take all of his official visits before making the final decision. He took visit No. 3 this weekend to Texas Tech. Scout.com has the scoop on what he though of Lubbock and the Red Raider program.

With his list carefully narrowed down to five schools, Dallas (TX) Skyline safety Keanon Cooper is out on the road checking out all of his options. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Cooper took a trip to Lubbock, Texas to see what the Red Raider program is like.

He had this to report.

"Overall it was a good visit," Cooper said of the Texas Tech visit. "It really did exceed my expectations with the player housing and the facilities. I was also very impressed with the coaches and the players."

While on the trip, Cooper chatted with coach Mike Leach on what he plans to do with Cooper should he commit. Not only did he get a talk, Cooper also got to check out some visuals on a former Red Raider defender.

"He (Leach) is a cool, real straightforward coach," Cooper said of Leach. "He was telling how I fit in the system. He said they want to play safety and play up on the line of scrimmage and help with the run kind of how they used Dwayne Slay. They also want me to blitz sometimes as well."

Cooper's list is down to five with Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Kansas, Minnesota, and Texas Tech making the final cut. He has already traveled to Kansas State, Minnesota, and now Texas Tech.

So what's next?

"Next weekend, I am going to either Oklahoma or Wisconsin," Cooper said. "The weekend after that, I will go to Kansas."

At the moment, Cooper does not have a favorite.

"I don't have the schools in chronological order and you really can't compare them all because they are different," Cooper said. "There is no first, second, or third. I plan to make all of my visits and then decide."
