B.J. Lee Headed to SMU!

This past summer B.J. Lee got the chance to visit the campus at SMU. After that trip, Lee had been crossing his fingers and hoping that an offer would come. It took a coaching change and a change in offensive philosophy to make it happen, but Mississippi's fastest fooball player is going to be a Mustang after all.

B.J. Lee Profile

"I have some good news," said B.J. "I committed to SMU this weekend."

Lee took his official visit to the Southern Methodist University campus this past weekend.

"The trip went real good," said Lee. "I went down there and talked to the new coaching staff. I had a real good time down there."

Coach June Jones is best known for his innovative schemes and explosive offenses. B.J. fits what Jones is looking for in an offensive playmaker.

"They are going to line me up in the slot as a receiver and they are going to let me play some running back too," said B.J. "They are going to let me do both. Slot won't be my primary position. I will go in the backfield and run the ball some."

SMU is a pretty good trip from home, but the Lee family will be just fine.

"My family feels good about it," said B.J. "SMU is a great institution academic wise. They are real happy that I am going there. It's a good program."
