Houston Lamar receiver gets first offer

Class of 2009 recruiting is in full swing as teh various schools beging their junior days. For Houston Lamar junior wide receiver he has already been to two junior days and now has his first offer. Join Texasprepinsider and Scout.com as we bring you the inside scoop of the recruiting world.

At six-foot-four, 210 pounds, Josh Gordon is an imposing target. He is also one of the top players for Houston Lamar's football team helping to lead them to yet another playoff run.

On Saturday he went to the University of Houston to take in their junior day along with some of the area and state's top prospects.

"We started off at the hall and then they talked to us awhile about academics and college", said Josh Gordon.

The day ended with a lot of joy for Gordon as he got his first offer.

"It is my first one so far, they told me they were going to offer me."

Gordon is receiving heavy attention from accross the nation from the likes of Florida, Michigan, Florida State, USC, OSU, Texas Tech, Houston and Texas A&M.

"Florida and Michigan are my two favorites. My family is from Michigan and we like to sit and watch their games. Florida, they produce so many athletes and I like how they play."

For Josh Gordon the recruiting season has officially broken and he now has his first offer with many more probably coming.
