"I haven't been to any junior days so far, but I plan to go to Mississippi State March 1st for theirs," Walker May told us from his home in Birmingham, (Ala.). "I haven't been invited to any others, but hopefully that will change."
The 6-4, 206 pound prospect turned in a 4.67 recently at a prep camp in the Birmingham area, but says his fastest time in the 40-yard dash was during a race with a teammate.
"My fastest 40-time ever was at our school when I was running with Caleb [Castille]. I ran in the 4.5s because I had to find another gear to keep up with Caleb," May chuckled.
There's no shortage of teams recruiting May, but he's still looking for his first offer.
"I would say Mississippi State is recruiting me harder than anyone else at this time," he explained. "I would say Duke is next because they have said they will offer me a scholarship a little later on in the spring."
"Ole Miss and Memphis have asked me for my film and transcripts, and they have started contacting me some. I probably won't know who is really interested in me until after the dead period ends."
May also plans to attend several camps this summer, and he gives us an inside look into the schools that might see him this summer.
"I want to go to several camps this summer," he said. "I will go to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Duke, Auburn, Alabama, and maybe Tennessee."
"Right now I'm just feeling my way along. I'm just trying to see who is interested in me the most and where I might fit in. I hope to know early on because I would like to make my decision before fall football season begins," May concluded.
May reports a 3.0 GPA, and he recently took the ACT for the first time. He is awaiting the test score.
