South Grand Prairie High has the kind of senior class that comes along only once every ten years or so, as this group for the Warriors is just flat out loaded. One of those big time prospects is 6'0 190 pound Safety Thomas Ferguson.

The hard hitting safety from SGP boasts some impressive measurables as he owns a 4.5 forty yard dash time along with a 285 pound bench press max and a 400 pound squat max in addition to his 32 inch vertical leap. Ferguson will be a three year starter for the Warriors intercepted six passes as a sophomore in 2006 as he earned District 7-5A Defensive Sophomore of the Year honors. In 2007, Ferguson notched honorable mention all 7-5A honors.

"I consider myself to be an aggressive safety, I love to come up and make plays and hit people in the running game. This summer I'm really going to work on my footwork so I can be better in coverage," said Ferguson.

Thomas currently holds one offer from Kansas, but he's gotten interest from Auburn, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. This summer Ferguson plans on attending camp at TCU and he'll be playing seven on seven for South Grand Prairie.

Ferguson who plans on majoring in Business mentions that academics and campus atmosphere will play key factors in deciding where he lands. However the decision from the SGP star will likely not come until after the 2008 season. As for 2008 Thomas has high expectations, "We've been talking about this year for a while, I want to help the team win district and make a long playoff run. I think we've got the talent to do it."
