Orwin is a nice size A-back that is 6' even and weighs 200 pounds and runs a fast 4.4 forty time.

Orwin, what are you measureables?

"I am 6' tall and weigh an even 200 pounds. I ran a forty time of 4.4."

Have you attended any Junior Days?

"I have gone to the ones at Alabama and Georgia Tech"

What schools are recruiting you?

"I hear from many schools across the area. I receive e-mails, letters, phone calls from a lot of the schools around the southeast and a quite a few outside the southeast too."

What offers do you have to date?

"I have offers from Georgia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, UAB, Minnesota, and Vanderbilt."

Would any of those be considered a favorite?

"Yes sir I have three schools that I am very high on. Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Alabama are my top three."

Can you tell me what about each school that makes them more appealing to you than the others?

"With Georgia Tech they have the best academics of all the schools I am looking at. I know when you graduate from Georgia Tech you are almost promised a job when you leave college. The campus is tremendous. I really liked it. Plus they have a very good support system for the players academically. Also they will be running the triple option offense and that offense is a running backs dream offense. They have had some top rushing offenses the last few years.

At Auburn I really liked the coaches and got to know them. Plus they are installing a very good offense for a running back too with the spread offense. Plus while I was there it felt like I was at home too.

Finally Alabama is one where I saw the weight room and really liked it. They have a very good tutoring system too. The coaches told me they had the second best graduation rate in the SEC too. I like the fact that they had the best recruiting class last year. That is something to build off of the next couple of years."

How about summer camps or combines, which ones will you be attending in the upcoming months?

"I will be going to the Southeast Top 100 Scout camp held at Auburn on April 27th. Plus I know three camps I am definitely attending which are the ones at Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Alabama. I hope to attend the one at Florida but that isn't set in stone just yet.'

Do you have a good feel on which five schools will get you official visits?

"No sir not just yet. I plan on taking all my official visits in January and early February of 2009. I want to see all the offers I have and then go from there. It's an important decision and I want to do it right."

What will be the ultimate deciding factors in deciding which school you will commit to?

"I want a school with great academics and support system. I know that not every player goes to the next level after college and that a valuable degree will carry you far. I want to have a shot at playing as early as I can. I would love to be in the rotation at running back by my sophomore year and then to be able to have my junior and senior year to get a lot of playing time. Finally, I want to be able to have a very good relationship with my coaches as they will be with me for the next four to five years.'

How about location, is that a factor?

"Yes sir I do believe it will be one. I know Auburn is only 45 minutes away, Georgia Tech is only 1 and half hours away, and Alabama is 2 hours away from home. I don't want to be to much further out than that in case I have to come home for an emergency. It is very costly to have to jump on a plane to go home when an emergency comes up. I'd like to be in a relatively short distance from home."

What were you stats from last season?

"I rushed for 1,278 yards in nine games scoring twelve touchdowns. I also caught seven passes out of the backfield for 79 yards too."

What do you feel your best traits are as a running back?

"My speed is my best trait. Plus my quickness is a good trait as I can use it to set up the defender to get around him easily."

What do you want to get better at before you head to college?

"Even though I feel my speed is my best trait, I want to get faster. Every time you go up a level of competition, the speed of the game and players are better than the one you are leaving. Plus I want to work on my power game more. I feel I can get more size and not lose any speed."

How about you high school team, how does the team look for your final year?

"We have nine coming back on offense and we have to replace a lot on defense but the ones coming up are very, very good and we should do very well. We have excellent skill players and our line is one of the best around. We feel we will go deep in the playoffs this year, no doubt."

Do you have a nickname your teammates given you?

"Yes sir they have started calling me "D-1" because of all the division one letters, emails, and offers I am getting from colleges."

Dale's Take:
Orwin has a very well thought out plan on how he will tackle the recruiting process. He has three schools he likes very much and I would be very surprised if his decision on a college doesn't come from those three choices. However, he will look at all his offers and weigh them carefully before making his decision.
