Jackson On the Big Ten

Grand Ledge (MI) wide receiver James Jackson has been one of the most sought after prospects in the country. Last week, we caught up with his head coach Matthew Bird for an update on his recruitment. Now hear from Jackson himself on his recent visits in Big Ten country.

James Jackson is one of the top receivers in the midwest. It is not surprising then that all of the Big Ten has been recruiting him hard.

Jackson is set to head out soon, for unofficial visits out west to UCLA and USC and down south to Tennessee and possibly some other SEC schools. First thing's first though, as the 4-star prospect has been making the rounds through Big Ten country on recent visits to Michigan and Ohio State. Previously without a leader or leaders of any sort, did the visits change that?

"Ohio State went well, I enjoyed my visit," he reported, "but as far as the top of my radar, nothing really has changed yet."

As for the Wolverines, Jackson said, "The new U of M was different but I like it also."

Jackson will be back in Ann Arbor this weekend for the Wolverines' spring game and then he will likely be in East Lansing the week after at Michigan State.

Another Big Ten school who has extended an offer are the Wisconsin Badgers. Although there hasn't been much contact, Jackson says they are still a school he is considering.

"To tell you the truth I have not heard much from Wisconsin," he confessed, "I am still very interested in them because of their program."

Long story short, everyone is still in it for James Jackson. After all, being wide open is something he is used to.
