Hawthorne drawing a lot of interest

Terry Hawthorne, 6-1, 185 pound, wide receiver from East St. Louis – East St. Louis High School (Il.) has an offer from Vanderbilt, but hopes to learn more in the future about the Commodores. Hawthrone and teammate Kraig Appleton are both being recruited by Vanderbilt. Find out who else is after this talented receiver.

Hawthorne reported, "I have offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas State, Illinois State, Minnesota, and Vanderbilt."

Hawthorne has a limited experience with Vanderbilt, but he reported, "I went there last year for seven on seven." He added, "I like how the campus looks. I like the facilities they have."

The coaching staff has been in contact with Hawthorne some throughout his junior year and into this recruiting season. He commented, "I've talked to some of the coaches but it was the end of last year." As far as his offer he explained, "They came up to our school and offered."

When asked if Vanderbilt has a chance for his commitment he responded, "A little bit." However in addition he spoke of not knowing much about Vanderbilt, yet. Hawthorne explained how he plans to get a better idea of Vanderbilt by saying, "I'm going to try to visit this summer."

Definitely in the favor of Vanderbilt is Hawthorne's desire for the school he will choose. He explained, "I'm looking for a good education and a good place for me to be and feel welcomed."

Hawthorne reports his on the field strength by saying, "I think it's my personality. I'm a hard worker." Hawthorne does not see the process ending early for him at all. In fact he commented, "I will probably after football season."
