Big Lineman likes the Commodores

Logan Massengale, 6-6, 270 pound, offensive tackle from Brentwood – Ravenwood High School (Tenn.) a former high school quarterback likes Vanderbilt early in the process. His combination of linemen size with skill position feet makes Massengale one of the top prospects in Tennessee.

Logan Massengale reports, "I have an offer from Middle Tennessee and Tennessee Chattanooga right now."

However, Massengale feels very close to an offer from Vanderbilt. He explained, "Honestly I think they are close to offering because I have talked to them for about a year now. I've gotten real close to Coach Cain and Coach Caldwell and I've gone to see a lot of games. They've thrown a scholarship around here and there." He went on to explain, "I think they are close to offering me but I had no idea Middle Tennessee would give me an offer. I had only talked to them once."

Massengale really likes Vanderbilt and has built a strong relationship with the staff. He said, "I really like the coaching staff honestly. They are very respectable. They are not just going to be your coaching staff, but they are there to really help you out."

One of the coaches he enjoys the most is his recruiting coach, Coach Ted Cain. Massengale commented, "Coach Cain is hilarious. He constantly keeps me and my family laughing." He added of the coaching staff, "They are real personable and just really easy to get along with, so that's thing I like because I can just talk to them and not have to worry about an uncomfortable level."

As far as his interests in Vanderbilt it stems from the Commodores recent success. He said of Vanderbilt, "The program itself I really like how they are making a name for themselves. For the past three years they have been competing with teams like Tennessee, Auburn, Florida and they almost beat Georgia."

With only two offers Massengale hopes to hit the summer camp circuit to improve his stock. He has planned visits to Tennessee, Western Kentucky, Georgia, UCLA, and Vanderbilt.

As far as any early favorites he said, "Yeah, kind of, I have a list of schools that I would love to go to their camps. It goes Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt and so on and so forth. Then UCLA came into the mix and threw everything out of order."

Massengale does not have any plans of committing early to anyone. He said, "I don't know if I will early commit. I want to try and avoid that. I want to wait until February to wait and see what all of my options are." He went on to say, "I really like Vanderbilt, but I am going to wait until February to see what all of my options are."
