After months of work and wonder, Springfield High linebacker Austin Moore picked up his first scholarship offer.
Austin Moore has heard the talk when it comes to getting scholarship offers. The linebacker from Springfield High School (Ohio) has worked his tail off attending every event he could, and was starting to wonder what he needed to do.
This weekend Moore found out when he visited Toledo’s Senior Evaluation Camp and showed the Rockets staff he’s got the right stuff.
“Coach Amstutz came up to me at camp and said I was the type of player they are looking for. He said the staff was going to offer me a full scholarship to Toledo.”
For Moore the offer comes just as he’s planning on making several camp trips hoping to give him even more opportunities when it comes to making a college choice.
“I’ll be at Michigan next weekend and then go to Cincinnati on the 15th, Wisconsin 16th, Northwestern the 17th and then Ohio State on the 20th.”
With a full camp slate ahead of him, Moore knows there is even more on his table this summer. One of the team leaders at Springfield North High School, Moore will be one of the players looked upon by the coaching staff as Springfield North and South becomes one school this fall.
“We’re coming together right now but we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us.”
We’ll continue to follow Moore in the coming weeks as he learns about his new offers.
